Emily Lamar brings more than 20 years of experience in education to her role as Assistant Principal. Her career has included serving as a high school English teacher, instructional coach, and district-level leader supporting secondary literacy, curriculum and instruction, professional learning, intervention, and student support.

Throughout her career, Ms. Lamar has worked with diverse student populations and has focused on creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments where all students have opportunities to grow and succeed.


Ms. Lamar holds a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the University of California, Irvine and a Master of Arts in Education from Whittier College. She is currently completing her Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) at California State University, Fresno.

Outside of school, Ms. Lamar enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She loves writing, hiking, and traveling—whether that means exploring somewhere new or returning to a favorite place with her family.

At the center of Ms. Lamar’s work is a belief that students should remain at the heart of the decisions schools make and that strong relationships among students, families, educators, and the community are essential to helping young people thrive.
